Community Life
A Life Plan Community (also known as a continuing care retirement community or CCRC) offers Independent Living as well as a full continuum of senior healthcare services on one campus. Presbyterian Village Cobb offers Independent Living in cottages, cluster homes and apartments. Care services include Assisted Living, Memory Support, Short-Term Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing.

Independent Living
Yes. The minimum age for residency is 62 years old. If one spouse is 62 years or above, the age requirement for the couple is met.

Nursing homes offer a higher level of medical care, usually for those who have numerous health care requirements. Assisted Living communities are intended for people who are generally able to care for themselves except for a few activities with which they require help — for example, preparing meals, bathing, dressing or performing household chores.

At Presbyterian Village Cobb, Memory Support services are offered in both our Assisted Living neighborhood and at the Skilled Nursing neighborhood at Presbyterian Village Morris Health Services Center adjacent to Hearthstone. This proximity ensures a smooth transition should Skilled Nursing care become necessary for your loved one — such as with advanced stages of Alzheimer’s disease or dementia.
Yes. Our Hearthstone team members are specially trained in person-centered Alzheimer’s and dementia Memory Support. And these special caregivers carry with them a compassionate temperament and a passion for providing dignified, respectful memory support to individuals and their families.
Skilled Nursing is commonly needed after a serious illness or injury. The following are some conditions that often require skilled care for seniors:
- Congestive heart failure
- Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
- Stroke
- Cardiac failure
- Parkinson’s disease
- Diabetes
- Alzheimer’s disease
- Other major illness
- Hip or bone fracture

Every resident receives an individualized treatment plan based on their physician’s orders and individual needs.
Presbyterian Village Cobb is Medicare-certified. With a qualifying hospital stay, Medicare typically covers days 1-20 of the Skilled Nursing stay. A Medicare-set daily coinsurance rate will be assessed for days 21-100. Medicare payment rules are very stringent and vary depending on a number of factors. No. Some suites have a private bathroom; many include a large stall shower, personal shower attachment and safety bars.
Becoming a Resident
When you decide to make Presbyterian Village Cobb your new home, there is an easy application process to complete. The application consists of two parts:
- Financial Qualification
- Wellness Health Application
An application fee of $300/single or $400/couple is paid at the time of application and is a non-refundable fee to cover the processing of your application.
